And the beginning of Western philosophy, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, were all teachers and pupils. They influenced each other well, becoming the center of ancient Greek philosophy, and even Western philosophy. Those who have made history have not only talent but also great encounters with people.
The movie ‘Good Will Hunting’ is about a young man who met such a great teacher.

<Good Will Hunting> is a young man with a brilliant brain and talent, but growing up in a poor environment, and living with his heart closed, The movie shows the process that how Will Hunting truly opens his frozen heart. Based on a short novel written in 1992 when Matt Damon was attending Harvard University as a literary creation project, he made a screenplay with his best friend Ben Affleck from his hometown. Not only did Matt Damon and Ben Affleck rise to stardom with the movie Good Will Hunting, but they were also were honored to win the Best Screenplay award at the Academy Awards.

Will Hunting, who lives in the slums of Boston and works as a cleaner at the  MIT, is a young man with a genius brain and talent.
One day, he easily solved the difficult questions that professors wrote on the blackboard to solve. Mathematics professors and students become curious about who the amazing hidden genius was, and math professor Gerald Rambo finds out that it was Will who was working as a cleaner.

Will grows up with suffers from violence from his lower-class father, and soon after he loses both his parents. The sense of damage causes him to have a strong fear of losing someone else’s love, being abandoned by someone, and not allowing others to really close to him. He always close relationships at a certain point in fear of being thrown out after giving them the heart. Behind Will’s flamboyant rhetoric and enormous knowledge were the weak self, who was in fear.

On the other hand, Professor Lambeau tries to bring Will to the world, but Will does not live up to his expectations and causes a rejection. Professor Lambeau asks his friend Sean, a psychology professor, to talk to him. Sean believed that the psychological theory was not important, but that only the ‘trust’ formed by physicians and counselors opened the door to the inner circle. He hugs Will’s wound and tries to become a true friend. So Sean and Will meet, and they open the door of their minds a little by little, feeling Sean’s sincerity towards him.

Good Will Hunting deals with the process of Will opening his mind and maturing. In addition to the main character, the delicate emotions of the characters the director portrays enable viewers to become more absorbed in the film. While Shawn’s role was large in the process of growing up, it was also influenced by his beloved lover Skyla and his friend Chuckie. Will learns from Professor Sean about “to open your heart to someone,” through his relationship with Skyla, and about “true love” and “true friendship” with Chuckie.

‘ Every day I come by to pick you up. And we go out we have a few drinks and a few laughs, and it’s great. But you know what the best part of my day is? It’s for about ten seconds from when I pull up to the curb to when I get to your door. Because I think maybe I’ll get up there and I’ll knock on the door and you won’t be there. No goodbye, no see you later, no nothin’. Just left. I don’t know much, but I know that.’

Although living in the same lower class, the quote that Chuckie speaks for his friend, who knows the genius of his friend Will, give us a real sense of friendship that is burrowing out of the pitfalls. It is a movie that I would like to recommend to people who are suddenly concerned about relationships, who are passive in opening their minds, who want to feel true people and friendship.

Matt Damon developed a draft of his assignment from Harvard University with Ben Affleck to complete the script for Good Will Hunting. The best screenplay of the year was won at the Academy and Golden Globe Awards with the film “Good Will Hunting,” a moving picture of a young couple who spent their childhood together in Boston, where the young hopeful meets life’s teacher.
