Madam Kwan’s – Truly Malaysian Cuisine

 

Madam Kwan’s, with several branches just inside Kuala Lumpur, is a Malaysian restaurant that is well known to travelers. They serve fusion Malay foods that are to suit various tastes.

 

 

 

To go to Madam Kwan’s, you first go to Pavilion.  Pavilion is located in the middle of Bukit Bintang, which is a most developed downtown in Malaysia.

Access within Kuala Lumpur is pretty good. The restaurant is located in the center of Kuala Lumpur, and it passes Gokl Bus and Metro nearby.

Once you arrive Pavilion level 1, you will find a wide range of restaurants as well as madam Kwan’s.

It’s located just to the left of the elevator, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost.

The interior of Madam Kwan’s is generally neat and very wide.

Madam Kwan’s menu is generally relatively inexpensive compared to other countries between 20 and 30 ringgit. However, other Malaysian restaurants only charge 10 to 15 ringgits, it is more expensive compared to Malaysian prices.

 

As you can see, the menu has a clean design.

And if you look at the menu, there is a picture with a description of the food, which is very convenient for foreign tourists who are not familiar with the food.

Madam Kwan’s Food

Nasi Lemak is the representative food of Malaysia and the representative menu of Madam Kwan’s
It’s a popular menu for local Malaysians and,  it is also one of Malaysia’s best known foods to foreigners.

As you can see from the visual, it is easy for foreigners to taste.
There are fried chicken, egg and anchovies on the rice made with coconut milk.

Nashi Lemak is slightly spicy and has a  coconut flavour. But if you are not a big fan of spicy food , I wouldn’t recommend it.

Another famous menu is Nasi goreng.  In fact, Nasi goreng can be found not only in Malaysia, but also in Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, in Madame Kwan’s, Malaysia, it has developed in her own way to suit everyone’s taste. I would like to recommend Nasi goreng if you are not a risk taker.

 

This fried banana was served with scoops of ice cream and its surface was covered with sweet sauces.  The texture of fried banana was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The fried bananas themselves are already sweet, so they may be sweeter if eaten with ice cream, but actually the soft taste is stronger than the sweet taste.

Most restaurants in Malaysia have quite a few employees compared to other countries.

As well as Madam Kwan’s, the first thing you see is the employees. The first time I entered into the restaurant, the clerk at the counter welcomed me and guided me to my seat.

When you order a menu, ask your staff about the menu and explain it kindly. I think most of the employees can speak English, Malay, and Chinese.

The food came out after a long time after I ordered the menu. Fortunately, when we went there, food came quickly because there were not many people, not lunch time.  But at lunchtime or dinner time, when there are many people, you have to wait quite a long time for food.

Madame Cus is a restaurant that is always at the top of other travel sites, including the Trip Advisor.

Foreigners who came to Malaysia for the first time, should visit the restaurant.
